PNPM is a package manager for Node.js which stands for “Performant NPM”. It was introduced in 2016, the same year Yarn was released. PNPM is a fast, disk space efficient package manager that supports monorepos. It creates a non-flat `node_modules` by default, so code has no access to arbitrary packages.
